Know Your Credit Score
 FICO vs. FACO Do you know your real credit score?
Everyone has dozens of credit scores used by financial institutions to judge credit worthiness.  In addition to FICO, the company Vantage Score offers credit scores and each of the three major credit bureaus offer their own credit scores: Experian, Equifax and TransUnion.
Specifically, the scores are based on payment history, debt usage, the age of your credit accounts, the dirrerent types of crdit accounts on your credit report and credit inquiries.  Differend financial institutions use different scoring models and it is not unusual to have different scores by different institutions.
Which score matters?
FICO controls 90% of the market for credit scores.  VantageScore controls 5 - 10% of the credit scoring market and are used by some lenders, and therefore, the formula can be just as useful as a FICO score.
If you would like to check your credit score, provides consumers access to two free scores - a VantageScore 3.0 and an Experian National Equivalency score along with an explanation of how your credit history is impacting the scores.

Owning a home has long been "The American Dream".  People have been adding to the size of their home to create McMansions. But since the recession, we have been downsizing.  Today, the median home size has dropped to about 2,100 square feet and more than one-third of Americans say their ideal home size is actually under 2,000 square feet, according to a survey by real-estate site Trulia.

Builders are responding by chopping out rooms that people just don't use anymore, particularly formal living rooms and sitting rooms.  Every year, Builder does a concept home that represents where the market is at. This year, it was called "A Home for the New Economy," which weighed in at around 1,700 square feet and, interestingly, was only designed virtually.

Gen Y, the new crop of homebuyer, is looking for a vibrant downtown flavor, with smaller homes. There is  a value to being connected to one another while still maintaining your privacy. There's a balance between privacy and community.
